Grants are for charitable purposes only.  Appeals will be considered from:

  • Registered Charities
  • Community Interest Companys
  • Voluntary Groups (Voluntary groups must be properly constituted and must find a registered charity to act as a cheque handler)

Funding Priorities

  • Community
  • Energy Saving Projects
  • Education
  • Disability
  • Medical
  • Ex Services
  • World in Need (if there is a link to a local charity)

Restrictions

  • Further education
  • Repair of buildings used solely for worship
  • Advancement of religion
  • Arts, heritage or science
  • Amateur sport
  • Human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation (except famility mediation)
  • Environmental protection or improvement
  • Animal Welfare
  • Residents Associations
  • Parish Councils
  • Univerisity of the 3rd Age

Type of Grant

Grants are generally made for specific projects such as the purchase of equipment or the provision, refurbishment or repair of premises.  This can include energy saving devices, IT equipment and website start-up and development costs. (Wherever possible and where it is financially viable, the Rothley Trust encourages charities to choose energy efficient electrial items with an energy rating of A or above.)
